The P.A.K.E.M.A Mentorship is a vibrant interpersonal or relational experience bounded by trust, confidentiality and integrity and that enables the nurturing, counseling, and empowerment of the less experienced persons, P-mentees, by the experienced persons or adepts in particular academic fields, also known as the P.A.K.E.M.A Mentors (P-Mentors).
-
We therefore believe that the outcome of a strong and committed P-Mentorship is a P.A.K.E.M.A protégé or mentee who is independent of the mentors and can critically think and flexibly express his or her thoughts and opinions courageously, ambitiously, passionately and confidently.
-
We view P.A.K.E.M.A mentorship being dependent on the both the P-Mentors and P-Mentees involved, their personalities, time and the resources needed to achieve this major goal and tailored to suit all the individuals involved.
-
We perceive the P.A.K.E.M.A mentorship as a developmental initiative that promotes the Aspire-Inspire cycle whereby both the mentors and mentees grow and learn from the programs we are promoting; it’s therefore an interactive learning and growth process for all parties involved.
What is P-Mentorship?
What does P-Mentorship promote?
-
We promote Structured Mentoring by recruiting the relevant groups of experienced people forming a network of mentors from both Kenya and abroad; they are the P-Ambassadors who will reach out to our P-Mentees via the P.A.K.E.M.A Mentoring Club workshops, activities that help encourage and inculcate critical thinking, leadership development, academic growth, innovation and community enlightenment to help promote the communities’ development at large.
-
We promote Peer Mentoring whereby both the P-Mentees and P-Mentors are from the same age group and therefore empower each other on the issues shared above through all the developmental activities the PMC club members will be doing throughout. This applies to both groups in Kenya and abroad, promoting intra-inter-cultural interaction amongst our students through the student-to-student programs and activities we will be do promoting.
-
We embrace Community-Based Mentoring by reaching out to the community and encouraging their involvement in the development of the area starting by promoting quality education, community wellness and activeness. The community will be involved in some of the programs that we mainly target their participation as a whole; they may engage as P-Mentors to the children, needy etc. Our P.A.K.E.M.A Communities at the grassroots will therefore work as a dedicated team to positively influence the lives of those in their care: the children, youths, women, disabled and all the vulnerable in that society for the betterment in the end.
How Do We Measure P-Mentorship?
-
P-Teamwork & Commitment - this is one of the Core Values we strongly embrace here at P.A.K.E.M.A. As a mentorship alliance, P.A.K.E.M.A involves both Kenyan and Global elites in this mentorship initiative and as a strong, committed, passionate and dedicated team we work hard and smart to help deliver our duties to the communities where we operate in, by also involving them including our P-Mentors, P-Mentees, Collaborators and our supporters as part of the P-Team. P-Teamwork is a quality nested within the broader concept of team performance and individual-level task work; it leads to making of better decisions, choices, duties and programs execution to achieve the ultimate goal: Community Empowerment. As P.A.K.E.M.A, we measure this value by analyzing our communication, members support, efficiency and effectiveness of our programs.

Evaluation of the PMC Workshops & Activities - We have designed and put together the evaluation forms for our P-Mentors, P-Mentees and PMC School Advisory committee; P-Mentee checklist, P-Mentor checklists & surveys. At the end of every activity or workshop done for a particular month or school term, we send out surveys, assessment forms to the PMC students/student leaders and our P-Mentors. This helps us see and rate the effectiveness of the activities and workshops held. The feedback will help shape our project (s) and also create room for more exchange of ideas and better ways to enhance a particular activity or workshop held within our P-Mentorship. The feedback forms will also be accessible via our website, where we will also feature some of the field trip feedbacks.
